At Maga Design I worked on a team of designers across various offices to visualize complex concepts, IT systems, and data adhering to strategic guidance. I was a primary designer for my office in this role, taking care of local clients to my office and also assisting other offices and remote sites. Design products in the company were often directed from strategy and facilitation sessions that I would sometimes participate in. This gave me experience in honing process, setting standards, and guiding projects from a design perspective.
Within the company I was exposed to design thinking and strategy, facilitation, rapid prototyping and wireframing, 3D printing, VR and 3D modeling, UI/UX and interaction design, as well as traditional layout design and printing for a client. I was often given the opportunity to try something new and expand my skillset.
Over the years I've work with various music acts and service industry members to createcollateral and printed material including album art, packaging, stickers, posters, banners, logos, and pins.
Within AIGA Central PA, my main role was to manage outward-facing communications including various social media platforms, email marketing via Mailchimp, and Wordpress management. I also aided the other chairs from time to time, mostly programming events as well as creating some graphics for the organization—external and internal. We worked closely as a small team to create meaningful events and initiatives in design for the greater Central PA area.
With RODA Marketing, I worked on contract as a Freelance Designer working directly with their team as well as other freelancers to complete client requests. I created infographics, posters, website banners, and other web content for their local set of clients.
At Inovāt, I was hired as an intern to assist a small design team with various tasks including website mockups, email banners, assisting in site markup, and smaller print projects. I was also exposed to an array of tools and techniques to connect and work with with clients and other members of the team. Towards the end of my internship I was tasked with creating a new blog for their site, which parts were adapted by the Creative Director that went into final production.
In this position, I was responsible for printing, troubleshooting, and helping design students with their files. I learned a great deal about printing standards and how to effectively produce a final piece in the printer's eyes. This included how to troubleshoot common problems with various types of paper and ink types. Also assisted in rallying students to common causes for the major at large.
